The Enemy (Warner)

The Enemy rose without trace to the top of the UK charts a couple of years ago with debut album We’ll Live And Die In These Towns.

Having had the chart-topping success, the Coventry trio are now making a conscious effort to live up to it.

From its pompous title on downwards, Music For The People reeks of the same self-importance previously trademarked by the likes of The Verve and Kasabian.

Their commitment is laudable; their cause is anything but.
