The infuriatingly young foursome cut a swathe across the country in the run up the release of their infectious debut 180 a couple of years back. They’ve been holed up in the studio working on its follow up, which gets its London debut this evening at the little old Sebright Arms. It’s the start of the Violets Mk II, so get in early and catch the songs that are going to be everywhere this summer fest scene!

Afghan Whigs – Feb 4
Unfairly lumped in with the grunge-alt-rock scene of the 90s, Afghan Whigs possessed a dark soul and blues influenced rockers that had little in common with the Pumpkins and Pearl Jams of the world. Critically lauded and loved by far too few, frontman Grug Dulli has had various alteregos and side projects on the go since he and the Whigs called it a day back in 2001, but ten years from then they reconvened and with a new album under their belt in the shape of the wholly ace Do To The Beast (2014), and a back-cat of stone cold classics, this is reunion show to savour.

When: Feb 4 / 7.30pm
Where: Koko, NW1 7JE
Cost: £25
