Facebook is rolling out a new profile page design with the emphasis on pictures and sharing information about yourself. If you want the new profile page, like, now, go to facebook.com/about/profile and click the green ‘Take the tour’ button. Otherwise, we’ll all be getting it over the next few weeks.
In the Facebook profile page redesign, photos become larger and move to the top of the page in a filmstrip of recently tagged photos. Information about Facebook members will appear more prominently at the top of the page and will include added fields for interests and views on life. Bound to be fascinating.
The horizontal menu bar to select Wall, Info etc is gone on the new profile page and users can now select these options from underneath their profile picture.

The ‘message’ and ‘poke’ buttons will appear at the top right of the page.
The redesign also puts more emphasis on ‘grouping’ friends, allowing users to “highlight the friends who are important to you.”
Reactions to the new Facebook profile page have been mixed.
JuDaYniee Tweeted: “I HATE THE FACEBOOK NEW PROFILE UPGRADE! WE WANT THE OLD ONE BACK!”
Twitter user LukeDrakeFTW was more philosophical, writing: “People will get used to the new facebook profile just like every other change facebook makes.”
Whatever you think, the new profile page will be automatically applied to the whole social networking site over the coming weeks, so you’d better get used to it!
