The girls are hired to send texts, play pranks, be fake internet girlfriends and create fake breakups.
The online marketplace lets girls offer services like fashion advice and homework help and charge five dollars for each task.
The idea behind the site, set up by web entrepreneur Cody Krecicki, is to help teen boys look cool in front of their friends.
The site, says Krecicki, a 22-year-old student, is a way “for girls to be their own bosses and guys to have something fun – a tool to use, if you want to call it that.”
He said he started the site “to make a niche for girls that are in college to make money while they’re busy going to class.”
On the site, SweetEmma offers to send photos of herself “so that you can show me off to your friends as your girlfriend”.
