It features New Zealand’s silver fern on a black and blue background, next to the stars that make up the Southern Cross constellation.
The flag will be set in opposition against the current flag in March in a final vote.
Many New Zealanders consider the current flag as outdated, while others suggest that the flag referendum is nothing more than an expensive waste of money.
The postal ballot results have been announced, but we’ll have to wait until Tuesday for confirmation as postal votes must be counted.
