Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have announced the arrival of their latest family addition – a baby daughter who was born by a surrogate mother.

The child was born on December 28, 2010 at a Nashville hospital, and has been given the name Faith Margaret Kidman Urban.

In an official statement Kidman and Urban said:

“Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret.

They also thanked everyone involved in the process.

“No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier.”

The 43-year-old actress married singer Keith Urban (also 43), in 2006, and they already have 2-year-old daughter Sunday Rose together, who Kidman gave birth to on July 7, 2008.

Kidman has credited the pregnancy of Sunday Rose to swimming in the waters of Kununurra, a small Australian town in the outback of Western Australia, which Kidman visited while filming Baz Luhrmann’s Australia.

The Oscar-winning actress also said that another six women who worked on the movie also became pregnant after swimming in the water.

Kidman has two adopted teenage children from her previous marriage with actor Tom Cruise.
