The computer-generated animation shows an inspiring futuristic space shuttle travelling around the globe. As the shuttle heads to the United States, a singed US flag is shown, followed by a city with skyscrapers ablaze, followed by an huge explosion.
“It seems that the nest of wickedness is ablaze with the fire started by itself,” a caption reads.
To add to the weirdness, throughout the video a soothing easy listening piano-led instrumental version of ‘We Are The World’ plays. The song was a hit charity song released in the US to raise money for African famine victims.
The animation appears to be the dream of a sleeping man, with the assertion that his dreams will “surely come true”.
According to gaming and tech website Kotaku, the footage of Manhattan under attack was stolen from the video game Modern Warfare 3.
