Monday’s season-four finale of Game of Thrones “The Children” became the most-pirated show in history according to TorrentFreak, with 1.5 million people worldwide downloading it illegally within 12 hours of its US screening.
Australia accounted for 11.6% of the piracy (that’s around 175,000 people – so more like Shame of Thrones).
The government wants action.
Details of exactly how they’ll clamp down on illegal downloads is unclear but one option is making it the job of internet service providers to block sites like BitTorrent or The Pirate Bay.
