WHAT: Chaos descends on the normally well-to-do surrounds of west London. Whether you’re there for the floats, the music, the food or streetside boozing, Notting Hill Carnival is a massive weekend.
WHEN: August 29-30.
DO IT BECAUSE: A whole corner of London – one that’s usually pretty buttoned-down – is taken over by an infectious party spirit. The main drag is an amazing spectacle but some of the best times are to be had around the sidestreet sound stages.
