First up is Alfonso Cuaron’s highly praised Gravity (Nov 8), which sees Sandra Bullock and George Clooney’s astronauts lost in space when an accident befalls their ship. Later sees the return of Ridley Scott with The Counsellor (Nov 15), which boasts an all-star cast – Michael Fassbender, Penelope Cruz, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz – in its tale of drug trafficking on the Tex-Mex border. Actor-turned-director Joseph Gordon Levitt makes his debut behind the camera with Don Jon (Nov 22), a romantic comedy-drama in which he stars alongside Scarlett Johansson. Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfieffer then team-up for Luc Besson’s The Family (Nov 22), about a Mafia crime family on the witness protection programme in France. A hit at last month’s London Film Festival, Parkland (Nov 22) about the events following the assassination of JFK, follows swiftly after, before Chloe Grace Moretz stars as the girl with telekinetic powers in this sure-to-be-ace remake of horror classic Carrie (Nov 29).
