The political party has made an application to make clothing discretionary beaches legal in Queensland.
Set to be the first, Noosa’s Alexandria Bay has been an unofficial nudist beach for 70 years.
You may have seen the beach in the news recently. A police crackdown resulted in six people prosecuted for exposure.
According to the party more than 80% of the local community supports the making of a legal clothing-optional beach.
Based on Noosa’s existing tourism figures if the Alexandria Bay was south-east Queensland’s only legal nude beach, it could be expected to entice 200 naturists per day on weekdays, rising to 500 per day on weekends.
