The German octopus oracle, Paul, has predicted Spanish win over Germany in the world cup semi final showdown between the two. The eight legged predictor chose to eat mussels from the Spanish box rather than the German one, having pondered over its decision for some time. Paul has so far successfully predicted all the outcomes of the German side in the 2010 world cup and has a record of 80% correct predictions in all.
However, German fans can take solace in the fact that Paul has made mistakes in his fortune telling in Germany – Spain outcomes. During the 2008 Euro Cup, Paul wrongly chose Germany over Spain as the winning side.
Internet has been abuzz with the news about the foreteller’s predictions, with some fans suggesting that the seer octopus could make it to the menu of the Oberhausen’s local Sushi bar in case the results tally with its predictions.
