Passers by were shocked to find the baby sleeping in its car seat with the note resting on top of the blanket, in a report by The New Zealand Herald.
The note written in the baby’s perspective read: “My mum’s in doing the shopping, call her if I need anything,” followed by a mobile number.
A man who spotted the baby said: “We waited there for a little bit, wondering if the mum was just going to be two seconds and come back”.
The mother was finally called by another two passers by who told her to come outside and waited by the car until she returned.
No charges are likely to be made against the mother.
