Rimsha Masih, 14, was accused by a Muslim minister of destroying a copy of the Koran, the sacred holy book.
Further details about the case have come out, there are now accusations against the Muslim cleric that state that he may have planted evidence.
Young Masih, who apparently has learning disabilities, has gone into hiding. Meanwhile, the Muslim cleric will be tried for a false accusation.
The blasphemy laws in Pakistan are hugely sensitive; it’s believed that more than 30 people in the past 20 years, which have been suspected of this crime, have been murdered by fundamentalists.
