“Sounds good my man, seeya soon, ill tw …” reads the harrowing text which was cut short by the accident.

Student Alexander Heit, who was a student at the University of Northern Colorado, was engrossed in texting a friend whilst behind the wheel. But while he focussed on the phone he inadvertently drifted across the road before turning the wheel suddenly to correct himself which caused the car to roll.

He lost his life in the accident.

“In a split second you could ruin your future, injure or kill others, and tear a hole in the heart of everyone who loves you,” said Andrew’s mother Sharon Heit in a statement.
