The Philippines in 2-3 days

You’ll likely be stuck in the madness of Manila, if so, spend a morning wandering around the Intramuros district, taking in Rizal Park, the rambling Fort Santiago, and the Museum of the Pilipino People. Then head over to the vast Ayala shopping complex in the Makati financial district – it’s much more fun than braving the crowded streets.

On other days head for day trips to Corregidor Island (fascinating World War II history) and to the Taal Lake and Taal Volcano.

In 7-9 days

After a quick glimpse at whichever city you start in, jump on an internal flight to whichever island tickles your fancy. For the Filipino high life head to Boracay, or for something more chilled head to Bohol.

Two weeks +

From Manila fly as soon as possible to Boracay, where you can party (or just laze around) for 2-3 days. Head down to the secluded island of Guimaras, then spend 3-4 days criss crossing an island or two on your way down to check out the scenery, wildlife and beaches of Bohol for 2-3 days.
