Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour’s son has been released on bail after he was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and attempted criminal damage at a student protest.

Charlie Gilmour – Dave Gilmour’s stepchild with wife Polly Samson – was accused of causing damage to the Union flag on the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London during last week’s student protests.

The student was also photographed trying to light a fire outside the Supreme Court.

The 21-year-old Cambridge University student has made a public apology for his behaviour.
