The monument will show the singer dressed in a trademark retro outfit, with her hair in a beehive and decorated with a rose – all details approved by her family, reports london24.com
Music venue The Roundhouse, which is near Winehouse’s former home is the proposed site for the statue.
Her father, Mitch, told the Camden New Journal: “It will be bronze, life-size and on the first-floor balcony next to the Roundhouse bar. What we’d like to have is Amy leaning over the balcony and looking, and perhaps pointing, towards Camden Town from Chalk Farm Road.”
A venue spokesman said: “We think it’s important that Amy’s contribution to music is recognised in Camden, but the idea is in its early stages of development at the moment.” reports The Guardian
The Back to Black singer was found dead from accidental alcohol poisoning at her Camden home after a long struggle with drink and drugs.
