Britpop favourites Pulp are to reform for summer appearances in 2011.
The band’s original line-up of Jarvis Cocker, Nick Banks, Candida Doyle, Steve Mackey, Russell Senior and Mark Webber will headline Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival on May 27 and at the Wireless Festival in London’s Hyde Park on July 3.
The reunion follows on from fellow Britpop act Blur’s hugely successful reunion which lead to sell out gigs in Hyde Park and a headlining appearance at Glastonbury in 2009.
Pulp originally formed in Sheffield in 1978, establishing themselves on the underground scene before gaining mainstream acceptance with their breakthrough single Common People in 1995.
They released seven albums before disbanding in 2002.
Tickets for Wireless go on general sale on Friday, November 12 at 9am. Visit wirelessfestival.co.uk for more details.
