Queensland has 15 unofficial nudist beaches, but is the only state without somewhere to legally get your kit off.

A new police clampdown on naturists has encouraged two campaigns for changes to the law.

The Australian sex party will lodge an official proposal requesting changes to an act which outlaws exposure in public.

Local resident John Hart has also launched a petition asking for at least one nudist beach in the state.

Queensland tourism industry council CEO Daniel Gschwind said he is happy to accommodate nudist beaches, as long as the local community got behind the idea.

“If an amicable solution can be found we’re all for it. But it has to be supported by the community and the council,” said Gschwind.

“It can’t be enforced on anybody. The locals have to be happy to have it.”

Let’s hope we’ll be getting naked legally in Queensland very soon.
