Food
Queenstown is New Zealand’s premier tourism draw-card, so expect to pay premier prices – everything here is more expensive than any of New Zealand’s cities. As the As Queenstown attracts everyone from snowboards with tight budgets, to the world’s super-rich, you will find all levels of dining from silver service to takeaway burger and chips. Ask around for good places to eat, otherwise head for the main cluster of bars and restaurants down by the lakeside.
Drink
There are a number of quality pubs and cocktail bars lined up along Queenstown’s lakefront all catering for the various demographics that swing into town. Queenstown has a reputation as a party town and hosts regular festivals and events – such as July’s annual Winter Festival www.winterfestival.co.nz, which heralds the onset of the ski season.
