The clip, filmed on a mobile phone and watched by millions was uploaded by a passenger on the tram, whose YouTube ID is LadyK89. During the shocking clip fellow passengers of muliple racial backgrounds appear shocked at the woman’s language and try to reason with her to stop for the sake of the children onboard.
Emma West, a 34 year old mother who was travelling on a Wimbledon to Croydon tram has been jailed, due to reports of death threats.
“There are grounds for believing that Miss West is not safe.” said France Lockheart, the prosecuter at Croydon Magistrates Court.
Gerald Ellis, the Chief magistrate prevented West’s release and said “We hear a number of death threats have been made.”
West has been accused of a racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment. She was denied bail.
