Speaking to the Daily Beast about how she felt about the feedback, Rebecca said:
“Those hurtful comments really shocked me. At times, it feels like I’m being cyber-bullied.”
She also said her record label, LA-based Ark Music Factory, had offered to take the video off the site to protect her, but she had decided to leave the video there.
“I decided not to give the haters the satisfaction that they got me so bad I gave up,” Rebecca said.
And it doesn’t seem Rebecca’s music career is over just yet.
In fact it looks like she could turn her YouTube fame around into something positive.
According to TMZ, the 13-year-old has now signed with music manager Debra Baum, with a bit of help of former American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.
Also, Simon Cowell has given Rebecca Black and the song his approval.
Talking to People magazine he said: “I love her [and] the fact that she’s gotten so much publicity. Anyone who can create this much controversy within a week, I want to meet.”
