The last series of the show ended in April after Harris was first named in the ongoing Operation Yewtree police investigation, which began with revelations about the BBC TV and radio presenter Jimmy Saville. Harris has not been charged and denies the allegations. He was re-arrested this week as part of the ongoing investigations.
“Ben Fogle will present the next series of Animal Clinic. No other presenter was ever contracted to do the second series,” said a statement from Channel 5.
Liverpool University’s vet school will be the location of the new eight-episode series, renamed Animal Clinic.
Ian Dunkley, commisioning editor at Channel 5 said that Fogle was “the natural choice to present the second series”.
