An extra bank holiday for the royal wedding has been promised and think what you may about Prince William and Kate Middleton, you’re getting an extra day off for the celebration on Friday April 29.

Britain will enjoy the bonus bank holiday next spring and, as there are already three bank holidays in April and May, it’s going to be a good time to get away and do some travelling.

With Easter falling the weekend before the royal wedding, and May Day holiday on the following Monday, many people will get two four-day weekends in a row with just a three-day working week in between.

Yes please!

The royal wedding bank holiday means that if you’re booking a two-week trip, you’ll only need to take off six instead of 10 days holiday.

Pru Goudie, PR & Business Development for On the Go tours, says “it’s good news for travellers heading down to ANZAC day this year with the announcement of the royal wedding bank holiday.

“We know TNT readers love to travel and it’s even better news for those who have booked our 16-day ANZAC and Ancient Egypt tour as they get to take advantage of the Easter break, Royal wedding bank holiday and the first May bank holiday.”
