Rugby league star Jonathan Thurston has been arrested outside a Brisbane casino for his drunken behaviour. The North Queensland Cowboys captain was arrested and charged with public nuisance after being kicked out of a Brisbane casino for harassing people with his walking crutch and then wrestling on the bonnet of a taxi another former player. In a club statement, the Cowboys apologised for Thurston’s behaviour: “Both the club and player acknowledge that his alleged behaviour was unbecoming of a player of his standing and as a representative of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys,” the statement read. “The board and management of the club express their disappointment with Johnathan’s actions and advise that he will be required to explain the circumstances surrounding the incident.” A casino spokeswoman said that Thurston had been there for about an hour when asked to leave, but did not appear to be intoxicated. “He was asked to leave because he was disturbing other patrons with his walking crutch.” To be honest, we’ve heard more shocking…
