Fortunately, nobody appears to have suffered serious injury following the accident which happened on Friday after one train ran into the back of another that had stopped at a station.
The accident was reportedly caused by a signal failure. The two subway cars were derailed.
Last month, a ferry carrying mainly school students capsized off the South Korean coast, leaving more than 300 people dead or missing, and South Koreans have criticized the government for lax safety practices.
Millions use Seoul’s modern metro system every day.
