The Australian hit an impressive 32 on the back nine to beat US challenger Rickie Fowler by four strokes.

Scott became the sixth player to win the PGA along with the Masters and Open titles, dubbed the Triple Crown.

“This was the one I wanted. This was the icing on the cake,” said Scott.

Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters in April at Augusta when he beat Angel Cabrera in a play-off.

“I came out and knew I had to do something great to win this. That’s what happens at these tournaments. I hit a four iron and it couldn’t have been better.”
