Why do you love to travel?
I love discovering new places, and then coming back and remembering all the fantastic reasons I love having London as my home.
Who would be your ideal travel partner and why?
Following his fab BBC2 Italy Unpacked show, presenter Andrew Graham Dixon – he’d be able to tell me about all the art and architecture.
What was your favourite destination last year and why?
Sardinia. Fascinating history, beautiful scenery, amazing seafood, lovely people.
Describe the most unusual situation you’ve found yourself in while travelling.
With two broken wrists following a hilly rollerblading adventure in Madrid.
Name two up-and-coming destinations for 2013.
The new London Dungeon on the South Bank, and the opening of the Queen Elizabeth Park (previously the Olympic Park).
If you could return to any country you’ve been to, where would it be and why?
Madrid. To check on that hill.
What’s the one thing you can’t travel without and why?
My iPhone. I’m a bit App happy.
