Tour operator Oasis Overland has announced a one-off expedition along the Silk Road. The trip will traverse Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China.
The 15-week odyssey starts in Istanbul on June 6, 2012, and ends in Beijing on September 18.
The hefty price tag of £3350 plus a local payment equivalent to about £1200 includes transport, accommodation, some meals and activities and a DVD of footage from the trip.
