More accessible Indonesia: Garuda will be launching a new direct service from LHR to akarta in Spring 2014. This will open up a whole range of possibilities for travel to the many islands of Indonesia, and with the obvious snappy connections to Bali being a real boon, we should also see some great development of tourism in the rest of the country. Expect to see more people heading to Sumatra and Java for exploration, hiking and great coffee!

Edinburgh air expansion: Scotland’s largest airport continues to grow and will see more services in 2014 to the USA with services to Chicago and Philadelphia starting in the spring, as well as Qatar Airways starting a five times weekly services from Edinburgh to Doha.

There’ll also be a host of hotel developments in the city centre – Adelaide’s 1930’s heritage listed Colonial Mutual Life building, located in the heart of the city, is being transformed into a luxurious boutique hotel, due to open in January 2014.
