This festive season, Slap Ya Papa and Marbles & Ware Collective are bringing deep-southern Reveillon Feasts, raucous late night parties and a glittering Big Top Christmas bazaar to the Victorian railway arches at The Vaults for a 4 week run of Christmas parties like you’ve never seen it before.
Launching on 24th November to coincide with Thanksgiving, Christmess spins traditions on their head. Ps & Qs are replaced with Gs & Ts. Table etiquette consists of dancing on them. The elves are getting loose & everyone’s in the mood for mischief.
Throughout the run, there will be nightly feasts with 12 dishes of Louisiana-inspired soul food from Slap Ya Papa. Dinner guests are invited to fill their bellies to the brim at long banquet tables heaving with tasty abundance, from candied yams to truffled sprouts, all washed down with wickedly good cocktails and fine wines.
Guests at these raucous feasts can expect the very best of communal dining, singing waitresses, foot stompin’ live music and lip smackin’ flavours, all served up by the charmingly playful characters that make up Nick’s entourage. Sundays will see Roast Dinners designed by award winning chef Andy Duncan of Hatchetts in Mayfair.
The venue will be brought to life with eccentric design twists, Nick is a man with eclectic taste and a penchant for decadence. Prepare to enter a world with secret twinkling absinthe bars and a secret Santa’s Grotto where guests can pay St Nick a visit to find out if they’ve been naughty or nice, with suitable consequences for either.
Other bespoke entertainment includes a suited and booted doorman complete with 1940s jukebox and fire-blowing tuba, a harem of Santa’s little helpers and Christmas sparkle courtesy of the Kaleidoscope Girls. If you’re lucky enough to catch her, you may even discover the glittering Green Fairy who has set up a bottle shop in the form of a hidden absinthe bar granting guests a wish and a little tincture to help them on their way.
From 6:30pm to 1am on weeknights (2am on weekends) the main Christmess Naughty or Nice Bar will be open to the public for a good-old fashioned knees-up with live music and DJ sets to get you in the mood for dancing and a delectable list of cocktails designed by Kevin Darcy of Platterform.
