South Africa 1 Mexico 1: match summary

South Africa vs Mexico – the first game of the 2010 World Cup ended in a draw with both teams scoring one goal.

Bafana Bafana looked set for triumph until Mexico defender Rafeal Marquez dived in to thwart them.

There was a major party atmosphere at kick off and the host team took with fans going mad for Siphiwe Tshabalala 20-yard goal.

However the game ended 1-1 after Barcelona veteran Marquez scored in the 79th minute.
