Morrissey (Sony)
Opening with an 11-minute track based on a Prokofiev sample, Southpaw Grammar (***) was greeted with boos on its 1995 release.
It’s actually one of Morrissey’s best solo albums. Well, until this reissue, on which the singer has inexplicably screwed up the track listing, added some dreary new material and scrapped the fabulous original artwork.
Maladjusted (*) gets similar treatment, the difference being it wasn’t any good in the first place.
