After 7 out of 34 matchdays, both of last year’s Champions-League finalists, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dormund, are still undefeated.
They are both at the top of the league with 19 points, followed by Bayer Leverkusen with 18 points and the rest of the league with at least seven points behind.
If you ask coaches of other teams than Bayern and Dortmund for their aims of the season you won’t find anyone answering with “win the championship”, as everyone believes that this is again a battle between the two teams from Munich and Dortmund.
This battle is already in it’s third round this year. After Borussia Dortmund could win the championship in 2011 and 2012, it was Bayern Munich that won the triple last season with the German Championship, the National Cup and – last but not least – the Champions League Trophy in a thrilling final at Wembley against no one else than Borussia Dortmund.
Next games for Bayern Munich are against Manchester City in the Champions League and Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga whilst Dortmund is going to host Marseille in the Champions League and has to play against Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Bundesliga the coming weekend.
Let the battle go on…
