Jack Wills Young Brits 2015 is an annual search for eight amazing individuals who excel in the fields of innovation, creativity, endurance and enterprise.

The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 16-25 who have exhibited extraordinary achievements in their chosen specialism. The awards offer a voice to those who encapsulate the British creativity, daring and intellect as well as practical support in the form of £5,000 funding and a year-long mentoring programme from industry experts.

Entries will be shortlisted by the public, and nominations can be made until July 26. The winners of each category will be chosen by a judging panel that includes Jack Wills’ creative director Richard Nicoll, novelist Raffaella Barker, world record marathon runner Amy Hughes, international ocean rower Chris Martin, environmental entrepreneur Anna Bullus from Gumdrop Ltd, and STA Travel’s chief executive John Constable. The eight official Jack Wills Young Brits of 2015 will be announced on 1 October.

STA Travel chief executive, John Constable, says: “I am really excited to be judging the Endurance category of Young Brits for the second year, last year the standard of entries was incredibly high and I have great hopes for this year too.

“Opportunities like this are so important to young people as we need to provide greater opportunities for them through internships and apprenticeships, so they can get ahead. Student debts and the pressure to find a job places a huge strain on young people. Today more young people in the UK spend time out of work than any other western country.

“When I’m looking for young people to work for STA Travel, I look for individuals who are passionate about building long-lasting relationships with our customers.

We’re in a fast-moving industry so it’s important to find people who can adapt quickly and aren’t afraid of change.

“The same applies to this year’s Young Brits’ candidates. We want them to be adventurous and spontaneous – to push boundaries and bring their ideas to life.

“My top tip for the Jack Wills’ Young Brits candidates this year is: be bold and don’t be afraid of taking a gamble. I’m hoping to find someone who has taken a risk to achieve something truly spectacular.”
