If you see yourself as something of a pottery genius, then this could be a fantastic way to show the nation your work, while having tonnes of fun along the way.

Love Productions, the makers of BBC1’s “The Great British Bake Off” are on a nationwide talent search aimed at experienced amateurs to early career potters who want to strut their stuff on the new show for BBC2.

The preliminary title for the programme is “Britain’s Best Potter”, and it will test all the different aspects of the craft, from creative design to smooth and sexy shaping (you’ve seen Ghost, right!?).

There will be no Mary Berry this time, but there’s bound to be a fab group of judges and presenters. And if “The Great British Bake Off” is anything to go by, there will be a diverse array of fun characters on the programme too. Why not apply to be a contestant so you can add your unique charm to the show?

Jennifer Greenwood, assistant producer at Love Productions, said: “It’s for those who aspire to become full-time professionals; those looking to take the next step up in their pottery practice or those who simply want to show the nation their work!”

If you think you’ve got what it takes to be on the show, you’d better get a wriggle on, as the deadline for applications is 4th January, 2015.

What better start for the new year than to grab the chance to get on TV and promote your talents all at once!
