Storm Alex has brought more chaos to BP’s oil spill clean up program.

Reported to have killed 10 people already, Storm Alex is forecast to reach hurricane strength today.

Hurricane watches were in effect yesterday for a stretch of the gulf coast in southern Texas and northern Mexico as Storm Alex gained strength.

Forecasters said that the storm’s path could push oil from the gulf oil spill further inland.

On top of that, BP’s plans to move a third containment vessel to the site of the leak could be pushed back by a week due to the stormy seas.

It is estimated that 35,000 to 60,000 barrels of oil are still gushing from the blown-out well each day.

Storm Alex is reported to have killed 10 people in Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador over the weekend.
