Imane Fadil said she was given €2000 by Berlusconi, and said she saw two strippers in nun outfits, complete with white veils and crosses, stripping in front of the Prime Minister.

One of the strippers, Nicole Minetti, is now a regional councillor in Berlusconi’s political party.

Fadil claimed in court that Minetti and other women stayed at the villa and she understood women who did so were paid for sex.

Fadil also alleges that a man tried to convince her to return to the villa last year: “A man stopped near my house and gave me an untraceable phone to organise a visit to Arcore. But I didn’t want to,” she said.

Berlusconi is accused of having sex with Karima El-Mahroug, who was 17 and working as a prostitute at the time of the alleged encounter.

Newspapers in Italy have reported that Berlusconi as paid £105180.05 to three key witnesses in the case, after the trial had begun, although his lawyer denies it was an attempt to influence their testimony and the payment were merely an example of his “usual generosity”.
