Many people who visit Australia on a working holiday visa normally find themselves so addicted to the place they want to hang around for more, maybe even for good. There are several avenues you can take to stay in Australia, one of which is studying.
International students in Australia are in luck because just last month the federal government announced a bunch of changes that has streamlined the visa application process, making it easier to obtain and even easier to stay after you finish studying.
Under the changes, foreign graduates who undertake a bachelor degree will be able stay and work for up to two years after they finish, without any restriction on the type of job – even in unrelated fields. So you can swap your law degree for lawn mowing if you really want to.
Furthermore, you will no longer have to prove you have $75,000 in your bank account, but simply declare that you have the means to support yourself while you’re here.
With shorter processing times, relaxed rules and more freedom, there really is no better time to hit the books in Australia.
