Seattle superhero Phoenix Jones has had his nose broken while out defending his town from the forces of evil.

Phoenix Jones rose to fame over the last couple of weeks after the media picked up on his self-styled form of crime fighting. Jones was credited with stopping the theft of a car as he paraded around town dressed in a latex, bullet-proof superhero costume.

However, the wannabe vigilante has made himself somewhat a target and at the weekend he was beaten up by two men.

Jones said that he was hurt while trying to break up a fight. He told a local TV station that he called police and put one of the men in a headlock while waiting for them.

The other man pulled out a gun and when Jones let go of the man he was holding, the second man kicked him in the face and broke his nose.

“I endanger my life with a reason and a purpose,” Jones said.

The Seattle superhero works as part of a team calling themselves the Rain City Superhero Movement. Phoenix Jones’s accomplices are nicknamed Thorn, Buster Doe, Green Reaper, Gemini, No Name, Catastrophe, Thunder 88 and Penelope.

According to Jones, all of his team have military or martial arts backgrounds and are equipped to fight the city’s bad guys.

However police aren’t convinced and have asked that he and others stop dressing up in costumes and instead notify the authorities.
