To avoid spending hours searching airlines’ websites for info on travelling with surfboards check out www.oceansource.net/airlines. They list loads of major airlines’ policies on surfboards. I travelled to Senegal recently with Royal Air Maroc, there was no charge when I took three surfboards, whereas most airlines charge 150 euros each way, per board. Surfing in Senegal was great — warm water, consistent swell, easy to get around,
laid-back, friendly people. Stay with Philippe at N’Gor Island surf camp (email ngorisland@yahoo.fr). Great guy, and great local knowledge.
