Though half have dropped out, seven pairs are still standing after 33 hours, and have already broken the previous Guinness World Record for the longest continuous kiss set in Germany in 2009. The current record they’re now chasing is 50 hours, 25 mins, and one second.
“They couldn’t do this unless they love each other. The smell of their breath would probably be quite something…I’m 100-percent confident that a couple will break the record,” said Somporn Naksuetrong of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Pattaya, Thailand.
Competitors are allowed to eat, drink, and use the loo, so long as they keep smooching. The winning couple wins a diamond ring worth £1,016 and a £2,032 cash prize.
