The flotilla spectacle – a tribute to Britain’s maritime history – will be the largest seen in modern times on the river Thames and will include Dunkirk little ships, historic steam boats and tugs, rowed shallops and Dutch barges, pleasure boats and passenger ships.

The Queen and other members of the royal family will take centre-stage on board Royal Barge, The Spirit of Chartwell.

The Bank Holiday weekend from June 2 to 5 will be the highlight of the 2012 Jubilee celebrations, marking the Queen’s 60-year reign.
