The new site would see hotels and homes built on a floating village in the River Thames on the site of the Royal Docks, a 35 acre site of disused docks, abandoned warehouses and derelict land.
The development, for which Johnson is currently looking for developers, would be the biggest floating site in the whole of the UK.
“This site is unique. It has the potential to become one of the most sought after addresses in the capital while breathing life back into London’s waterways,” Johnson said in a statement.
“But it’s not alone,” he added of his further plans to rejuvenate certain areas of the city.
“Right across London there are incredible investment opportunities that I’m determined to bring to market creating ore homes and jobs for Londoners.”
