Have a hot dog at Bæjarins Bestu, near the harbour in Reykjavik. Icelanders are crazy for their Icelandic hot dogs and swear they’re the best in the world. Ask for Eina með öllu (the one with everything) to get it with mustard, ketchup, rémoulade and crunchy onions.

If you fall in love in Iceland it´s useful to know how to say ‘I love you.’ It’s quite easy: Ég elska þig (yeg l-skä thig). Don’t say it to everyone – we Icelanders use this sentence sparingly.
