Still not yet 17, Miley Cyrus has risen to superstardom by serving as a surrogate big sister to every pre-teen in America. The commercial canniness that’s marked her career continues on The Time Of Our Lives, which pays clever homage to a plethora of styles: mock-rock (Kicking And Screaming, Talk Is Cheap), Nashville balladry (Obsessed, The Climb), R’n’B-slanted pop (Party In The USA) and so on. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when her audience grows up.
