The BBC’s talent show, with judges Jessie J, Danny O’Donoghue, Will.i.am, and Tom Jones, won the ratings clash for the second week in a row after it scored 2.1 million viewers more during the 20minute window in which the two shows are both live on the air together.
The Mirror newspaper has reported that coming second in a two horse race does not sit kindly with BGT head honcho Simon Cowell.
“He’s been working with the team around the clock and ordering dozens of re-edits I order to improve the show,” a source has claimed.
“He wants every show to be better and better. Staff are being pushed to breaking point because of this war.
“For a long time Simon has been king of reality TV, but these figures prove he is not the only man who knows how to create a hit.”
The Voice peaked with 10.2 million viewers, with nine million staying riveted to their screens for the whole show, with BGT picking up a peak of 12 million and 9.9million for its duration.
However, BGT has the more popular 8pm slot with The Voice kicking off the battle at the earlier 7pm slot. However, in the 20minute window where the two shows go head-to-head, The Voice came out on top.
