Jackman, who stars in the upcoming The Wolverine as the titular X-Man and mutant, revealed how he misunderstood the customs at a spa in Japan while out there filming the latest comic book movie series installment. .
He had been relaxing in the spa and using the small towel he had been given to dip in the water and put on his head to cool off, finding himself the recipient of all manner of odd looks as he did so.
“I was feeling uncomfortable and finally this guy in the tub grunts and points to my head and then grunts and points to my private parts,” the 44-year old Sydneysider said.
“Finally, I realised the towel was meant to be covering my privates – I’d spent an hour just waltzing round this place with this thing in one hand and a beer in the other.”
The Wolverine is released July 25 and co-stars Famke Janssen and is directed by James Mangold.
