Knackered after slogging round The National Gallery? Recharge at this refined spot overlooking Trafalgar Square. Their afternoon tea is not to be missed – the smoked salmon and avocado on soda bread was our favourite.
East End contemporary art must-see the Whitechapel Gallery also serves up impressive seasonal fare – think Longhorn beef burger with winter slaw and fat chips, and salmon and dill fishcakes with pea and mint purée and a pea shoot salad. Hell-o.
